Writing in the time of COVID-19: Day 60

The number 60:

My next Big-Oh Birthday.

The year of my oldest brother’s birth.

Sixty seconds to a minute; sixty minutes to an hour.

“60 Minutes” started out airing every other Tuesday against the popular show “Marcus Welby M.D.” It premiered September 24th, 1968, and included Mike Wallace and Andy Rooney.

“Three score”

The sum of a pair of twin primes, 29 and 31.

The number of minutes in a degree.

In the Bible, the age of Isaac when Jacob and Esau were born.

Zero to 60: A standard measurement of performance in automobiles.

President John F. Kennedy.

Diamond wedding anniversary.

A common age first identifying someone as a “senior citizen.”

Route 60 runs 2,655 miles from the Atlantic Coast in Virginia to Arizona.

Up to 60 percent of the human body is water.

Delta Airlines announced it would max its flights at 60 percent through July, at least.

In Chinese checkers, the maximum number of marbles.

In darts, the highest score achieved for a single dart.

A common maximum speed limit for some states, not Hawaii.

Babe Ruth hit 60 homers in 1927. It has since been broken by Roger Maris, Mark McGwire, and Barry Bonds. However, Ruth’s 1927 season was 154 games long; whereas, the other guys had 162 games in a season to hit their 60 homers.

What else “60” can you add to this sixtieth sharing during COVID-19?

 

Hawaii added one new coronavirus case to its statewide count of 641.
